For more information about how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services, review Google's business data responsibility information and Ads Settings.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect information you provide directly, such as a display name, comment text, contact message, email address, or takedown request details. We may also collect technical information such as page URLs, referral sources, approximate location derived from IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, screen size, campaign parameters, search queries on the site, reading interactions, share clicks, and comment events.
2. Comments and Reader Identity
Readers can comment without creating an account. To make this smoother, we may store a lightweight reader ID, display name, and generated avatar seed in local browser storage and a cookie. This lets the same browser keep a consistent comment identity without uploading a profile image.
Comments may be public. Do not submit sensitive personal information, private addresses, phone numbers, passwords, health information, financial information, or information about other people without permission.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to publish and manage comments, respond to contact requests, improve story discovery, measure traffic quality, debug technical problems, protect against spam and abuse, understand social referral performance, comply with advertising policies, and maintain the safety and integrity of the site.
4. Advertising and Google Services
EpicStoryBox may use Google AdSense, Google Analytics, and similar services. Google and other advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads, measure ad performance, prevent fraud, limit repeated ads, or personalize ads depending on your settings and applicable rules.
Advertising partners may process data such as cookies, device identifiers, IP address, browser information, page URL, ad interactions, and general location signals. Their processing is governed by their own policies in addition to this policy.
5. Cookies and Local Storage
We use cookies and local storage for reader identity, comments, analytics, advertising, performance, security, and basic site functionality. Blocking cookies may affect comments, analytics accuracy, ad behavior, or other site features.
6. Sharing Information
We do not sell reader comments or contact messages. We may share limited information with service providers that help operate hosting, analytics, advertising, moderation, security, storage, email, or site performance. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate abuse, or as part of a business transfer involving the site.
7. Data Retention
We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, unless a longer period is required for legal, security, moderation, fraud prevention, analytics, backup, or accounting reasons. Local browser data remains on your device until you clear it or your browser removes it.
8. Your Choices
You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser, use browser privacy controls, opt out of some personalized advertising through advertising settings provided by ad networks, and contact us to request review or deletion of comments you believe are yours. We may need enough information to verify or locate the relevant content.
9. Children
EpicStoryBox is intended for a general audience of readers and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child submitted personal information, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
10. International Readers
Readers may access EpicStoryBox from different countries. Data may be processed in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate. Privacy rights vary by location, and we will review reasonable requests according to applicable law and operational feasibility.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the site. No internet service is completely secure, so you should avoid submitting sensitive information through comments or public forms.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our site, comment system, analytics, advertising partners, or legal obligations change. The updated date will show when the policy was last revised.
13. Contact
For privacy questions, comment removal requests, advertising concerns, or data-related requests, use the contact page and include the relevant page URL when possible.
